Earth Atlas is not a conventional geographical atlas as such, but takes the reader on a journey across the world to many real places, with a purpose to explaining the underlying geological processes that go to create such remarkable landforms. These appear to have been "carved straight out of the ground" in all their visual glory and realism by the artist. They are accurate depictions of fascinating places, captured and explained with captions and backup diagrams.
The Earth Atlas was a very demanding challenge for me, not only for the painstaking work involved in translating topographical information from detailed maps into 3D views, but often just having to manipulate and condense vast regions in such small scale into meaningful and uncluttered images.
